Abstract (en)
Trends in the civil aircraft market in recent years indicate an increased demand for light aircraft with high efficiency, minimum weight and long service life. However, the development, tests and certification of a new aircraft is a painstaking, time-consuming and expensive process that can cost from several hundred thousand to several million dollars. One way to overcome this problem is to modify the existing certified aircraft through the process of modernization. Modernization, which implies the introduction of a new, stronger and often lighter engine, ensures a simultaneous increase in efficiency and a reduction in the overall weight of the aircraft. Weight reduction can also be achieved through the use of modern, lighter materials, as well as through the use of new methodologies in the design of parts of the structure...
